Indev Software announced today that it has acquired MiniMail, the popular plugin for Apple Mail,
from Olive Toast Software. The acquisition assures the future development of MiniMail, including Snow Leopard compatibility.
MiniMail provides a convenient mini-window for viewing unread messages, allowing users to quickly check incoming messages and action them.
John Buckley is CEO of Olive Toast Software: "Indev has a proven history of developing quality Apple Mail plugins - they are an obvious choice to take MiniMail forward to Snow Leopard and beyond. The sale of MiniMail allows us to focus on our iPhone applications Files and Files lite."
Scott Morrison, president of Indev Software: "We're excited about adding MiniMail to our product line. We have been using it for a long time and we have worked to make our software compatible with MiniMail. Now that MiniMail is an Indev product, we can build even greater integration with our Mail Act-On and MailTags products and take the product in new directions."
Indev's immediate plans for MiniMail are to release a Snow Leopard compatibility upgrade before the end of October, to add further integration with MailTags and to ultimately provide innovative new options to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of reading email.
Indev expects a OS X 10.6 compatible MiniMail 2 to be released before the end of October 2009. MiniMail 2 will be priced at $12.95 USD for new users and $4.95 USD for users upgrading from MiniMail 1.X. Existing Indev customers will be able to purchase MiniMail 2 for $8.95.
