New feature request

Postby GeriSoft » Mon Jun 01, 2009 12:19 pm

It is a very nice feature to change the viewed file orientation by turning the device, but sometimes it should be able to turn off, or the app should be able to change the file orientation.
sometimes the image (or the created pdf) has made by wrong orientation information, and it requires 90 or 180 degree rotate. currently it seems there is no rotation option, and there is no possibility to lock the screen.
this means I can not read the file yet.

All in all, the app is great and worth the price :)

You can lock the screen orientation by tapping the "Lock Orientation" action menu item when viewing the document.

Unfortunately there is no option to transform the orientation of a PDF or image document.

Is it possible to upload multiple files like "*.jpg"? Thanks.

If you connect from Finder, Windows Explorer etc it is possible to upload multiple files and folders.

Only the web interface is restricted to single file upload.

Can you add CAD file view capability? AutoCad is the defacto industry standard format ending in *.dxf or *.dwg. Also possibly SolidWorks. You would need full zoom functionality with at least pan. 3D models need to rotate (pitch, yaw, roll) or simply rotate around the center of the view ("orbit", which is a combination of pitch, roll and yaw).

Feature request noted. We'll have to look into the practicalities of supporting AutoCad on the iPhone.

I use Files on my iPod Touch and find it very useful…

except for one thing: I can't read my documents which are in .odt format or any of the other Open Document formats used by OpenOffice.

Come on guys, if you can implement opening proprietary Microsoft formats, you should be able to let us access our open docs! ;)

I need the ability to take an attachment that is in an incoming email message and save it in one of my "Files" folders. Is that possible? Or will it ever be?

Thanks,
Rob

@blanzatbob: OpenDocument format is not something we plan to support. You should export as PDF or Office etc for viewing in Files.

@rtikql8: Currently you can't save email attachments directly to Files on your iPhone, but we do plan on adding support for this in the future.
