4.88GB storage limit

Postby xenophreak » Thu Aug 27, 2009 3:38 am

Alright, been using files for a long while now...glorious application that makes using an Ipod touch in combination with linux a fun experience. I have one major concern however and that is for some weird and completely illogical reason I can't keep more then 4.88GB in my files application.

Having a 32GB Ipod and using it primarily for pdfs and movies this is an unreasonable restriction. Yea I could sync movie files through itunes but that would make subfolders a thing of impossibility. When dealing with entire seasons of certain TV shows, subfolders are necessary or you won't find a darn thing on your Ipod. Is there an easy way of fixing this limitation or am I going to have to take the application apart into source and do it myself? If so, what language is it coded in so I can look up how?

Hi,

There should be no fundamental limit (other than the free space on your iPod) to how much data you can store in Files. What value have you set for your disk quota? Alternatively you can switch off the disk quota entirely and just let Files use all the free space.

Wow, I feel stupid now. Why the disk quota was set the way it was I have clue, fixed the issue though. Thanks.
