Problem with uploading large number of files

Postby jacques » Tue May 10, 2011 5:14 pm

I am trying to upload 13500 documents to a file named “Test” in my Iphone thought Files pro 1.8.3 and WebDav on Mac. I tried with Safari or Firefox and it is the same problem. After transfering 200-500 documents, the application crashes and when restarted it performs a Index rebuilding. The transferred documents appeared ok, however, I cannot pursue. The application do not want to add directly new documents to this file “Test”. To get around the problem I continued the upload of the rest of the documents in another file (let say “test2”). File Pro crashed again after uploading some 200-500 documents but after the Index rebuilding I could transfert the documents from test2 to test. I succeeded in uploading the entire files by repeating the operation some 20-25 times. I tried with in the Flash or HTML5 mode: same problem.
Anybody has a hint on why FilePro crashes after 200-500 document uploading (Sleeping mode if off). Last year, at about the same time, I had no problem in transfering the same amount of document using the version of FilePro that existed at that time.

In fact, at the first upload request, some 3000 documents were uploaded before a crash. This number becomes smaller and smaller as the total number of documents in FilePro increases (irrespecivement of whether they are all in the same folder or not). I also try with ITune. The files were uploaded more easily but then FilePro could not even open. It crashed before opening after a couple of seconds.

Additionnal info : documents are JPG of some 100K-200K

Hi Jacques,

Thanks for reporting this. It sounds like a memory issue - which would be exacerbated using the iPhone 3G which has very little free memory available in iOS 4. The iPod touch 4G should be much better since it has more memory.

We'll investigate and see if we can reproduce the problem.
