Files management

Postby Nicpaillard » Tue Nov 02, 2010 4:36 pm

Hi,
I'm looking for a great files utility. So far, Files seems to be a really good candidate, but there are some feature I would like to see before purchasing it.

I would like Files to be able to:
a) create, move and remove folders
b) move files between folders
c) get files downloads from safari (doesn't work at least on Files Lite with iOS 4.1). See edit 2 below!

A nice addition, but not vital, would be to create, move and edit text files.

At the moment, Files is a nice piece of work, but for my needs, I would like to have a real files management tool that connects via WebDav.

Thanks

Edit: Typo

Edit 2: Import via Safari now works, but I had to wait 24 hours! I did two reboots and the feature still wasn't present. I expect it may be more a iOS or Safari issue than Files'. Could also be a conflict between Files and FileApp Pro in Safari.

The full version of Files can handle file-mangement (create folders, move/copy/delete etc) and it includes a built-in web browser for downloading from the internet, cloud servers etc.

At the moment we don't support creation or editing of text files.

Regarding import from Safari I presume you're referring to the "Open In" iOS feature? Support for this is hard-coded into the application, so any problems are most likely bugs in iOS itself. iOS should offer to open the document in all applications which are able to handle it, so there shouldn't be any conflicts between applications, they should all be available in the Open In menu.

Thanks for answering!

I'll get it ASAP.

Only, you should state it more clearly that files management is possible under the full version, I havn't been able to read about that anywhere easily.

For bugs in iOS, that is what I presumed after it took 24 hrs to get the option to send to File Lite. Now I'm very happy about the software.

Great work!
